Can you guess where these photos were shot? Big surprise, Golden Gate Park of course. Although the weather here in California is in the 60-70s, I wore a fall appropriate outfit. I threw on a slouchy army green cardigan for some warmth and black floppy hat for good measure. My white t-shirt, ripped jeans, black boots, and black bag are staples which you have seen way too many times on the blog. Thanks for visiting and have a great thanksgiving holiday! We are incredibly thankful for all your support here on Flying Neon Lights.

Love,

Amanda

Classic Staples, With A Twist

ASOS boots, Kate Spade bag, Anthropologie shirt, H&M jeans, necklace (gift)

A white button-up paired with jeans is always an effortless look. This combo, adored by bloggers and celebrities alike, can easily be freshened up to match fashion trends of the time. For this outfit, I took the classic button-up and paired it with the very-in frayed hem jeans. With my trusty black boots and shoulder bag, I was quite comfortable pursuing through the galleries at Asian Art Museum. Thank for visiting and hope you like the outfit!

Cheers,

Amanda

Tee (gift – thanks Michelle!), Trench (gift – thanks Amanda!), Jeans – H&M, Boots – ASOS

Hello!

Today is the first day of fall so I thought it would be appropriate to feature a fall outfit :-). The struggle to take these photos were real as I kept slipping on the rocks – they’re higher than they look! For this outfit, I wanted to layer for SF’s ever-changing weather; I donned a simple striped tee, blue jeans, and added a pop of black color (lol) with my black booties and a trench coat. As always, this was shot in Golden Gate Park outside the De Young Museum – after 4 years of Flying Neon Lights, Amanda and I are realizing that this place offers limitless spaces to photograph. Stay tuned for more posts in our favorite area! Anyway, wishing you a fantastic weekend. Happy Friday!

Cheers,

Tiffany

Halter (Free People), Romper (ASOS), Choker (Forever 21),  Hat (gift – thanks Ashley!)

Hi everyone!

With summer coming to a close, I wanted to feature an actual summer outfit (haha). Fortunately, sunny San Diego permitted me to wear a romper, and I decided to accessorize with choker and hat! I also decided to add a pop of color with my halter top. I finished this outfit with black boots, however you can also switch it up by wearing sandals (which I should’ve, it was so hot!). Any way, have a fantastic week!

Cheers,

Tiffany

When in Maui Part 3: Understated Tropical

img_3969img_3974img_3970

DSW sandals, H&M pants, ASOS watch, off the shoulder top (Taiwan), F21 crop top, leaf necklace (Artist & Fleas LA), hat (San Francisco boutique)

Decided to wear my wide leg pants once again, dressed down this time in tropical Hawaii. I wore an off the shoulder white top and threw on a straw hat for a day of exploration. To add some sparkle to my outfit, I opted for gold sandals. If you want to see a more polished look featuring my wide leg pants, check out the post here. Thanks for visiting and stay tuned for my last Maui outfit post!

When in Maui Part 2: Black Athleisure

img_2675img_2678Nike shoes, ASOS pom pom shorts, cap, socks, h&m hoodie, rings (Artists and Fleas LA)

For a full hiking day in the Kapalua area of Maui, I opted to wear all black althleisure- a cap to protect my face from the sun and a hoodie to weather the winds. I love these sneakers not only because they are comfortable, but also because the pop of subtle neon adds volumes to an all-black outfit such as this. Thanks for visiting and keep your eyes peeled for more Maui outfit posts!

When In Maui Part #1: Isometric Romper

img_2372img_2374ASOS mules & cap, F21 romper, leaf necklace (Artists & Fleas LA)

As promised by Tiffany, up and coming are some summer appropriate outfits. I have 5 outfits that I dug from my Maui archives. I totally forgot to post them back in January, but at least the pairings are fitting for the  season. I practically lived in a romper/ sandals on my trip to Maui. This romper + mules combo was adequate as a beach coverup and transitioned well enough into dinners by the ocean. I love the isometric patterns of this romper and thought the print meshed well with the tropical vibes of Hawaii. Thanks for visiting and hope you’d enjoyed this post!

Elevated Casual

ASOS boots, watch, bag, H&M jeans, top (San Diego boutique), Betsey Johnson bracelet

Ah, it’s been a while since I uploaded an outfit post. When I’m not on blogging mode, I practically live in a loose plain tee and ripped jeans on a daily basis. Sometimes, however, I like to update my look by incorporating details that elevate my outfit. Cue in this fun off-the-shoulder top which includes lace detailing as well as a Tapa-inspired print. I added a pop of red (lips) for color and streamlined the look with classic black boots and a pleather tote bag. Thanks for visiting and hope you are all having a great week! -Amanda

Hi all,

I hope you all are having a lovely week! This week’s outfit features a juxtaposition between femininity and masculinity. I paired a floral off the shoulder top with my black distressed boyfriend jeans. To feature my off the shoulder top, I wore my chelsea boots and black floppy hat and a dark purple lip to add a more neutral look. This was a perfect day to head to San Diego’s Little Italy district to visit their farmers market, highly recommend you check it out 🙂 Thank you for visiting, have a great week!

Love,

When in LA Pt.3- Oversized Green Jacket

img_1245img_1253

Green jacket (Rizky’s), black hoodie (American Apparel), v neck (thrifted), jeans (Levi’s), boots (ASOS)

Hi all!

This last installment on my LA series features my trip to The Broad! Easily one of my favorite museums, The Broad features contemporary art pieces like this digital piece called “Hustle’n’Punch” by Takashi Murakami. I wore a very comfortable and warm outfit, as we waited a cool 90 minutes to enter this popular museum. I decided to pair a soft v neck tee with a black hoodie and an oversized thick green jacket. I stayed warm and neutral by wearing navy blue jeans and black chelsea boots, and also accessorized with my choker again. I highly recommend those in LA to check out The Broad, definitely a spot you won’t regret! I hope you all enjoyed this series, have a great week!

Cheers!
